7 Tips for effective yoga practice

1 Make sure to cleanse yourself completely both internally and externally:


Bowels must be empty. Taking shower before practice ensures that all the pores are free of toxins accumulated due to heat are released which helps in better absorption of energy during the practice. water not only cleanses but also rejuvenates the body.

You could actually feel the difference in the performance of your yoga postures. You could stretch, bend and twist much easier.


2 Stomach must be lighter not hungry:



Generally when we are hungry our body is prepared for digestion. When the enzymes related to digestion are active, the chances of energizing is minimum. The physical and mental acitivity performed in hunger consumes more energy. Instead of feeling energized you will be exhausted. Fruits helps in keeping the stomach lighter . The quantity is preferably the minimum amount that can satiate your hunger.


3 Practice in open spaces with fresh air:



Yoga is to open up both mind and body. When it is performed in open spaces with fresh air it can be achieved with ease. Open and pleasant surrounding calms down the thoughts and prepares your mind to enjoy the yoga practice. As pranayamas aims at enhancing the breathing, fresh and pure air provides more benefits.


4 Wear clothes that are breathable and made of natural fibres:



Yoga is all about improving energy circulation within the body as well as with the nature. Choosing clothes that are comfortable to stretch are good but it must be airy.


5 Connect to yourself, avoid playing music or any other distractions:


Energy flows to the part where the mind is focussed in. Every asana is designed to feel the pressure or stretch in one or more organs. Paying attention to each and every movement in the body will bring more energy to the part which enhances the efficiency of that part. This thing is worth trying for other work outs too.


6 Minimum people around:


This helps to calm your mind and brings focus faster. Even if you have yoga sessions in groups try to maintain as much distance as you can so that your energy fields are free.


7 Have sufficient rest/sleep:


The most important thing to focus to enhance efficiency in all walks of life is to have adequate rest. You could find more flexibility in joints and muscles after a good sleep.

Yoga aims at enhancing the functions of physiological processes such as digestion, excretion, respiration etc. to rejuvenate body and mind. It offers much more benefits when it is done after facilitating those processes.
